The Offspring make loud and fast rock music; the lead singer Dexter yells more than sings all the time, the guitars go the faster the better and the drummer seems to be hyperactive. Listening to their music gives you more energy than being hit by lightning. The Offspring are a totally out of control ride on a rollercoaster!
YES! I am a fan of The Offspring, one of the fastest and most popular punk rock bands around!

The 4 dudes from California

Check out Dexter's clean white teeth.
I wonder what brand toothpaste he uses.

HOW DID IT ALL SLIP BY
More than ten years ago, a guy from Orange County, California, got the idea of forming a punk band with his school mates. They bought some drums and guitars and started off playing. These guys were Bryan Holland (call him Dexter), Greg Kriesel (call him Greg K), Kevin Wasserman (call him Noodles), and Ron Welty (call him Ron Welty).
They played and kicked and screamed and in 1989 they recorded their first self-titled album with Nemesis Records. They played on and in 1992 they recorded their second album,
Ignition with Epitaph. They played some more and in 1994 they recorded Smash.
Smash brought instant fame. It turned platinum multiple times, selling over 9,5 million copies. They toured the world. They toured some more. They went home, leaving the fans waiting and waiting.
In 1996, they did a cover of Smash It Up for the soundtrack of the movie Batman Forever. After that they went to school and played some more. In 1997 they recorded
Ixnay On The Hombre for Columbia.
One year later, they returned with
Americana and scored 4 hit singles in a row. In 1999 they did a cover of Total Immortal by AFI for the movie Me, Myself, And Irene (starring Jim Carrey as schizophrenic) and in 2000 Conspiracy Of One was released, together with the film Huck It in which The Offspring perform amazing stunts.
Afterwards, drummer Ron Welty quit the band. The 2003 album
Splinter was recorded with the drummer of Vandals. In 2007, Pete Parada took place behind the drums and in 2008 the Offspring release Rise And Fall, Rage And Grace.

THIS IS LIFE
The Offspring's songs are mostly energetic, fast and loud songs. If you don't like 'm, you'll probably hate 'm. If you do like one, you're going to love all of them. The songs are usually about being yourself instead of doing what everyone else does, about the wrongness of our society, about the wrongness of or leaders and wars, and there are some love songs as well. Not love songs like Mariah Carey makes 'm, but tough love songs. The Offspring sing about life as it is, not as you want it to be.
So life's a bitch huh? Yes, but I quote from an article in Impact Magazine (Nov '96):

The Offspring's lead singer and lyricist Bryan "Dexter" Holland holds a Ph.D. in molecular biology, drummer Ron Welty and bassist Greg Kriesel hold degrees in electronics and finance respectively, and guitarist Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman can talk your ear off on any subject.
All this and brains too!!
